Create and author a badge

Step 1: Click on Badges in the side menu

Click Manage

Step 2: Click Create

Step 3: Under Name, enter in the name for your badge.

Step 4: Under Description enter in the description for your badge (optional).

Step 5: Under Appearance click Choose Icon.

Step 6: In the dialogue, choose an icon for your badge.

Step 7: Pick a colour for your badge.


Set expiry and notification date for your badge (optional)

Expiry Date

Expiry date is the date where the badge will become void.

Step 1: Under Badge Expiry enter in the number of months until the badge will expire.

IMPORTANT! The starting date is when the badge was assigned.

The system does a calculated example for you in the blue message as shown below.

Notification before badge expires

Notification date is when the learner will receive a notification that their badge is about expire. This is also the date where the badge will have an "expiring" status.

Step 1: Under Notification before badge expires enter in when a notification should be sent to the user about their badge expiry.

IMPORTANT! The number of days is counted from the expiry date.
